Jumping The Gap in Canyonlands

It’s a big drop as this intrepid hiker jumps a gap between two giant, sandstone mushrooms near White Crack Camp on the White Rim Trail in Utah’s Canyonlands National Park.
Whale of a Deal

Every week we get to print posters for professional designers. Andy Helms is one of the designers we get to work with frequently. He is part of a company called Living Social. You can go to their site and see tons of great deals in your area. This poster will be going up in their office to highlight especially good deals. Yet another great image tuned into a great poster.
Indie Movie Poster

Some of our favorite posters are independent movie posters. SpenceTF Productions just had their movie poster made with us. Guilt and Sentence is their newest movie, which will come out in June 2010. It is a drama about two individuals who are connected by one tragic event. I don’t want to give anything away so check out their site if you are interested.
Secret Spot

Trudy H. had a beautiful poster printed with us. It is a picture of their semi-secret spot in Hawaii. All they would tell me is that it is on the Southern part of the big island and that it is only accessible on foot or with a serious four-wheel drive vehicle. What a great poster to have printed! A reminder of a warm sunny place in these dark and cold months.
Family Painting

Mike C purchased a painting over 30 years ago. As he moved from apartment to apartment and house to house this painting moved with him. His three children grew up equally loving the image. So when he gave it to one of them the other two kids were not happy. As a gift he made two copies of the image so they can all enjoy their favorite childhood painting. Problem solved with PosterBrain!
Big Air Poster

Have you ever done something really cool? Something so cool that no one would believe it unless they saw it. Josh B has, and now he has the poster to prove it. This is an image of him jumping a HUGE truck on an off-road track in Middlebury. I am not sure how you land safely when you are that high, but apparently Josh knows. So next time you are doing something a little crazy, don’t forget to get a picture so you can make a poster.
American Muscle Poster

Recently Scott T. had some amazing American muscle posters printed with PosterBrain. His pride and joy, Nicknamed “Black Momba”, is a ’67 Mustang fastback. An undisclosed amount of hours were put into the car, but if you take a look at his site here it is obvious that this was no quick fix up project. For all you Eleanor fans, (that’s right, a Gone in 60 Seconds reference) be sure to check out his site where his posters are available for purchase.
Favorite View Poster

Everyone has a favorite view. Maybe a regular vacation spot or quick getaway destination, if you are lucky it is somewhere close. For Delores it is on her brother’s porch in northeastern Washington. This is exactly what she looks at while drinking her morning coffee every day while she visits. She had this poster made so she could enjoy the view from her own home in Ohio every day. We all though this was a really cool idea! Thank you so much Delores.
Art Posters

We get a good amount of professional artists developing their work with us. Recently we printed a few posters for Cindy Deluz. We quickly found the only thing more cheerful than her art is her personality. All of her images are warm and seem to make you feel good about the world around you. You can check them out at her website here. Or, you can see what is going on at her blog as well.
Sculpture Display Posters

We have some incredible artists as customers. Jocelyn Russell recently had some posters printed to display her amazing work. Jocelyn specializes in sculptures and monuments. You can check out her website here. The process from conception to completion can take 12 months to finish with a monument this size. Half of that time is foundry time, half sculpting. The first casting of Turning Point (cougar above) was commissioned by Arizona Cougar Club and presented to BYU for installation in their new Student Athlete Building.
Star Trek Halloween Poster

Congratulations to Elaine! She won our Halloween poster contest because we loved the story of how they all dressed up as a (Star Trek) team for their patients. Elaine and the other crewmen in this poster work at a dialysis center in San Jose, CA. Elaine wrote, “The patients see the same four walls every other day of their lives (three treatments a week for most, but up to 6 treatments a week for others!). We employees like to make things fun for them on Halloween! (Fun for us too!) This year our theme was “Star Trek”!”
Vintage Football Posters

We see a lot of sports posters come through here, but not quite like this one. Luke from Wisconsin made a poster of this 1953 Packers football official program. His grandfather actually had season tickets dating back to the 20’s. Luke’s uncle got the tickets, and his dad got the old programs… not the greatest deal, but now Luke has 60 – 70 vintage Packer programs from the 1930’s through the 1960’s in his sports collection, which is very cool. This poster is the first wall art for his brand new man cave. Go Packs!
Luke’s thoughts on PosterBrain… “I got my poster and LOVE it. Paper quality, color brightness, and size were exactly what I wanted. Even the gloss level was right on. I will be sending you guys 3 more images to get posterized sometime this week… Please know you now have a new “sales agent” in Wisconsin. Your products, prices, and most importantly, your people are of the highest quality. I look forward to telling anyone willing to listen about my experience with PosterBrain!”
Favorite Summer Photo Poster

The Cupcake Mafia folks just had a favorite summer photo contest and announced the winner. Does it get any cuter?
Wine Posters

Imagine Wines recently made this really cool poster for their 2009-2010 season. Many of their wine labels are really cool looking and have a woman on them who they call “Pearl”. They conducted a contest to find a real-life Pearl, click here to see. We love the retro look and the nostalgia that goes with it. Makes me think of old-fashioned hand-crafted wines. We haven’t tried their wines yet, but we imagine they taste as refined as their art work. Give them a try here.
Book Cover Poster

A very talented local Colorado artist, Christopher Manzanares, created this AMAZING illustration for the cover of a poetry collection book that’s about to be released called La Fe by Jeanette Gillmore. Christopher shows how he created the illustration here. Very cool!
Retirement Gift Poster

We love seeing gift orders come through because we know they are from the heart. Like this one from Nancy from Philadelphia, who blew up a bunch of firetruck photos to give as a retirement gift to her husband (Samuel Rosario Sr.) who has been a firefighter for 25 years with IAFF Local 22 Philadelphia… “This way he will always have these beautiful pictures of his firetrucks.” For what he will do after he retires, “well his ‘honey to do list’ is pretty long”
What a COOL gift Nancy! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of it.
Inspired in part by Nancy, and to make it easier for more people to be the best gift-givers ever, we just created a really cool “add gift wrap” option at checkout. Check the box and we will ship the posters in a high-gloss red tube with a silver and blue bow sticker. AND for those who want to add a note inside, you can just email us your message and we’ll will hand-write it for you on our nice gift cards and include that in the tube as well! For the time being we are offering this for free – so be the BEST gift-giver ever and blow up some posters for your loved ones!
Store Sign Poster

We love helping our fellow business owners attract more customers with in-store signs. Studio Floral of Cleveland Ohio made these really vibrant SALE posters and used good-ole-fashion clear packing tape to hang them on their windows. WOW, what a great impact these signs have on their store front! If you are in the hood and need some beautiful flowers for a loved one or an event, feel free to stop by (and mention what cool signs they have).
Team Poster

We love seeing posters of teams celebrating their championships (soccer, baseball, and football). This is the first lifeguard championship we’ve had the honor to help celebrate. It’s the L.A. County Lifeguards in Los Angeles’ 23rd CONSECUTIVE year defending their team title! WOW, LA has some great swimmers!
This year was in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. So the team rented a 40 foot trailer to haul all their lifeguard equipment. From paddleboards, to surf skis, dory boats, and all other lifeguard equipment. One of their team sponsors is United Association – Local Union 250 which are pipefitter, steamfitters, welders and refrigeration fitters. Which made it all possible.
Congratulations from everyone at PosterBrain! We wish we could swim as well as you!
Wedding Pictures Mosaic Poster

One of the COOLEST posters just came through yesterday – a photo mosaic of 2,000 wedding pictures that then ITSELF is a picture of the newlyweds. Brad G from New York just had his one year anniversary (congrats Brad!) and was trying to figure out two things:
1. What to do with the 2,000+ pictures that didn’t make the wedding album.
2. How to surprise his new bride with something really cool and show how much he loves her after a year.
Brad’s friend Benji told him about Foto-Mosaik-Edda, a freeware photo software. You can create mosaic-pictures, which are composed of many small pictures (tiles), from your own photos. He downloaded the software, loaded up all of his pictures, saved the result, and then uploaded it to PosterBrain to print it into a poster. And VOILA, he’s got an insta I-LOVE-YOU-THIS-MUCH poster present!
Thanks Steffen Schirmer, for creating such a COOL, easy-to-use software to show our wives how much we love them!
Wedding Poster
Timothy Hartsock are super-fun wedding photographers. They have a couple who is getting married in October in downtown Indianapolis at the Fountain Square Theatre and thought it would be really cool to have movie posters made of the two of them. They will be displayed in the outside poster cases so guests can see them as they arrive for the wedding. They wanted one of the posters designed similar to the “Gone with the Wind” Poster. So, from the engagement photos they shot, they used one to design their poster. After the wedding, they can frame their poster and hang it up to enjoy and remember their very special event! For anyone who is interested in having their own custom designed wedding poster, The Hartsock’s said they would love to create some fun for you too www.thehartsocks.com
Product Poster

We help to make a lot of cool product posters (in this case to show at fairs), but this one takes the… book! A Spoonful of Chocolate Hope makes handbags out of really cool old book covers. The best part is that she started this business in order to help save her father’s self-built home (the whole story). Check out her totally awesome handbags.
Collage Poster

We see a lot of collage posters coming through (mostly of people), this one Aaron Loy made is unique because it’s of a city that moves him: Lincoln, Nebraska. He went through 8,000 photos he found of Lincoln and then used an easy downloadable collage maker program called www.shapecollage.com. Created by Vincent Chung, a Computer Engineering PhD student at the University of Toronto. The program also lets you make your collage in different shapes (like the shape of a heart or a cat). Very cool stuff Aaron & Vincent, thanks for helping inspire great collages!
