Here at PosterBrain we have the opportunity to make some insanely awesome posters for insanely awesome people! And goodness gracious we have some very talented and creative customers! Just look at this amazing three step drawing of Elizabeth Taylor that we had the privilege of posterizing.
Not only is this drawing done entirely by pencil (mainly mechanical), but it is also drawn by a self taught artist! Now that’s pretty cool. When our buddy Gil Fong was 54 years of age and one year away from retiring, he was bored and decided to start drawing.Thank goodness for boredom! He’s created about sixty portraits of which only 1/3 were commission based. “I enjoy seeing how happy people are with the drawings more so than the little money that I make.” We’d be ecstatic with one of his drawings too!

Gil is planning to use the high quality posters PosterBrain printed for him while he is at Artscape this year (America’s largest free arts festival, attracting 350,000+ attendees over three days and features 150+ fine artists.) When we checked with Gil to make sure the posters did his drawings justice, here’s what he had to say, “The quality was excellent, I like it so much I really didn’t want to sell it. Then I realized that I could just get another printed up from you! All my actual drawings are about 16×20, but I had two really large frames I got from a flea market, and thought it would be nice to have a couple of my drawings enlarged. Now that I have one framed, I really like the larger size. So I plan on using your company more in the future to enlarge my art work.”
One of our main goals at PosterBrain is to provide exceptional quality at a low cost for all of our customers. And having artists trust us to print their amazing masterpieces lets us know we’re on the right track! We’re sending out good luck vibes to Gil and all you artists on your upcoming art shows!
