Tips to Help You Decorate your Classroom

We’re halfway through the school year; teachers and students alike are dying for fun ways to keep the classroom exciting. A quick and easy way to spice up your room is with posters. Here are a few tips and ideas!

- Have your kids create a piece of art on a sheet of paper – individually, or as a team of students. When they’re done, submit that art to PosterBrain to create a huge, amazing-quality print of their work to hang in your classroom. Seeing their artwork in such a grand, professional way will definitely keep them excited and proud to come to class

- Print a poster with the letters of the alphabet on it – each letter in the corner of its own empty box. Use dry erase markers to let students fill in the boxes with words and pictures related to each letter

- Every class has a list of “classroom rules,” but a lot of times, those rules are determined by some pre-made sign. Make your own classroom rules poster, where your students have a say in what those rules are! After all, it’s easier to follow rules if you helped create them.

Here at PosterBrain, our goal is to help make your job as a teacher easier. We’d love to hear your different classroom decoration ideas – what’s worked and what hasn’t, and we’d especially love to hear how we can better help YOU as a teacher.

High School Musicals Promote Using PosterBrain

Who doesn’t love a good ol’ high school musical? No, we’re not talking about the Disney hit – we’re talking about the real thing: budding talents practicing for hours and hours to share their voices and acting talent with their community.

But, with all that practice, it’s impossible to find the time to get the word out to the community. Enter PosterBrain.

Various high schools across the nation have discovered the huge benefits of creating posters through PosterBrain to advertise their plays.

With its crisp, clear printing on quality archival paper (translation: hard to tear and easy to see in those bustling school halls and community streets), PosterBrain really gets the job done.

Halloween Costume Contest

Like any self-respecting company, we at PosterBrain love us a good Halloween Costume Contest! This year, we asked YOU for your submissions on Facebook for a chance to win a free poster.

With a record-breaking 15 participants, the entries were Good & Plenty….excuse our corny candy jokes (or should we say Candy Corny…oh man, this post is already taking a turn for the worst.)

From insanely darling to brilliantly clever to just plain hilarious, here’s what we got to feast our eyes on last week:

And the winner of our contest was Marti, with a ridiculously adorable picture of little Dorothy, pondering the greater meaning of life and candy on the yellow brick road.

Congrats, Marti and thanks to everyone for playing along with us!

Short and sweet, you truly ROCK

Make a Great Map Poster With GoogleEarth

confluence

This image is a GoogleEarth image of the Confluence of the Green River and the Colorado River in Canyonlands National Park in Southern Utah. This photo is really cool, because you can see that the Green River is actually, well, green.

Most people don’t realize that you can use GoogleEarth to generate a nice image that is high enough resolution that it will make a great PosterBrain poster.

Here’s all you need to do:
